We hosted an exchange meeting with two kantele players from Sweden and members of the Reion-kai.
The kantele players showed great interest in the koto, so we performed representative koto pieces such as "Rokudan," "Kurokami," and "Sakura." They expressed their admiration for the traditional song "Kurokami," calling it wonderful. We hope to continue sharing Japan's culture with pride in the future.
In return, the kantele players spoke with great pride about the kantele, a traditional Finnish instrument. They shared its origins, which are said to stem from a Finnish folk tale featuring three heroes.
